Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before your first visit.

No referral is needed. All of our practitioners are primary contact clinicians, so you can book directly without seeing your GP first. If we feel a referral or further investigation is warranted, we’ll advise you during your consultation.

It depends on your symptoms and goals. Use our Find Treatment tool above to get a personalised recommendation, or book a free 15-minute consultation — we’ll listen to what’s going on and point you to the right person.

This varies depending on the condition, how long you’ve had it, and how your body responds. Many patients notice significant improvement within 3–6 sessions. We’ll give you a realistic expectation at your first appointment and review your progress regularly — we won’t string you along.

Yes. We work with many major insurers including BUPA, AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality, and others. We recommend contacting your insurer before your first appointment to confirm your cover, and we’ll provide any receipts or reports needed to make a claim.

All three treat musculoskeletal conditions but with different approaches. Osteopaths take a whole-body view, working on joints, muscles, and how they interconnect. Chiropractors focus primarily on the spine and nervous system. Physiotherapists combine hands-on treatment with structured exercise rehabilitation. In practice there is significant overlap — the right choice depends on your specific presentation, which is why we offer a free consultation to help you decide.

Yes. All practitioners are registered with their relevant professional body — including the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), General Chiropractic Council (GCC), Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), and the BACP. Fully insured and committed to continuing professional development.

Wear or bring loose, comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being treated — shorts are ideal for lower back, hip, or leg conditions. Please bring any relevant imaging (X-rays, MRI scans), GP letters, or a list of current medications. Arriving a few minutes early to complete your health history form is helpful.

Yes, parking is available at both of our locations. Full directions are on our booking page. If you have any difficulty finding us, give us a call on 01202 422000 and we’ll guide you in.

Yes. We offer a free 15-minute telephone or in-clinic consultation. This is a no-obligation conversation to discuss your symptoms, answer your questions, and confirm which practitioner is best placed to help. Book via the link at the top of the page.

Absolutely — and we encourage it. Continuity of care means your practitioner gets to know your case in depth, making each session more effective. You can request your preferred practitioner when booking online or by calling us.
